U.S.-Japan Creative Artists Fellowship Program

【U.S.-Japan Creative Artists Fellowship Program】

We have been selected as one of the five teams of US-Japan 2020 Artists’ Collaboration! Five artistic teams from the United States and Japan will work together on a project that each reflect the themes of this year’s Olympic Games; unity, collaboration and the long-time friendship between the United States & Japan.

This project is funded by the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Ben Volta has been working with Pennsylvania schools more than two decades. He is an artist member of the America’s largest public art program, Mural Arts Philadelphia.

In January, Ben Volta came to Saiki, Oita to work with children of Lumbini Kindergarten and Tsuruoka Kodomo-no-ie.

Saiki kids were so excited to see Ben’s gigantic mural works’ photo presentation, kids were saying, “genius! oh, so cool! awesome!” They enjoyed following workshop very much, imagining their works will be a part of bigger mural. It was really a fun and precious visit by Ben Volta.
